The field schedule linked below will be kept up-to-date as much as possible. Please note the day and time of the last change, which is shown on the schedule. Call or text Steve Reiner at 412-606-6738 or e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org to address any field scheduling issues.
After home games begin, each manager must contact the Field Schedule Coordinator to reserve an open time for practice. The main School field may be reserved for practice up to one week in advance. Only one practice is allowed to be reserved on the main field per team each week. See the rules governing additional open field times below.
If possible, try to avoid this, but, IF NECESSARY, ANY PRACTICE CAN BE BUMPED IN ORDER TO SCHEDULE A MAKEUP GAME!
On days without any scheduled games, we will continue to assign the following practice times until further notice.
Weeknights: 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm (6:45 pm early in season)
Saturdays: 10 am, 11:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm and 6 pm
Sundays: 12 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm, and 6 pm
On days with a mix of games and practices scheduled, 2 hours will be reserved for games and 1-1/2 hours will be reserved for practices, as time permits.
Unreserved (open) field times will be handled as follows:
Open weeknight field times (Monday through Friday) can be reserved by any manager the day prior to the open field time. This includes teams that already had a practice during that calendar week or have a practice scheduled for later that week. For instance, an open Wednesday evening field time could be reserved on Tuesday morning by a manager who already has a Friday practice scheduled or who already practiced on Monday night.
Open weekend field times (anytime Saturday or Sunday) can be reserved by any manager two days prior to the open field time. This includes teams that already had a practice during that calendar week or have a practice scheduled for later that week. For instance, an open Sunday afternoon field time could be reserved on Friday morning by a manager who already has a Monday practice scheduled.
Please be considerate of your fellow managers. In the first scenario above, on Tuesday morning, manager B reserves the field for Wednesday even though manager B already has a practice scheduled for Friday. Manager A, who is well-prepared and had his Tuesday night practice reserved a week ahead of time, gets rained out. Manager B is not obliged to give the field to manager A on Wednesday night, but, if possible, manager B should consider allowing manager A to use the batting cage or part of the outfield if asked. Remember, you never know when you will be the one getting rained out.
If there are any controversies or simultaneous field requests, teams that have not gotten to practice yet in the calendar week (Sun.-Sat.) will be given first priority for the field. Teams that only had a partial practice due to weather or other event have second priority. Teams that already had a practice during the week or have a practice scheduled after the open date have the third priority. In summary, the field times will be distributed as fairly as possible.
